The successful applicant will work closely with the PI on a project on the syntactic structure of Jamaican Creole. The project will explore both the grammar and processing of long- distance dependencies in Jamaican Creole (among other phenomena). The successful applicant will work with the PI to design the experiments, develop the language materials, recruit participants (native speakers of Jamaican Creole), analyze the results, and prepare publications. The candidate will also work with the PI and other members of the lab on any associated administrative tasks that help facilitate the project.

Applicants must have completed a BA in Psychology at NYUAD, with any level of experience, or a master s degree with less than 5 years of research experience. have taken PSYCH-UH 2218 Language Science and PSYCH-UH 3612EQ Lab in Language Science, and have completed training on acceptability judgment experiments and EEG and/or MEG. Excellent experimental and syntactic analysis skills are required. Native or near-native like ability in Jamaican Creole is required.
