Careers
Our Kinesiology concentrations at Georgia State University are designed to hone in on specific aspects of the program. Each concentration may lead to particular careers:
- The Biomechanics and Physical Rehabilitation concentration is designed for students to enter a career as a professor in one of 300+ biomechanics, biomechanical engineering and rehabilitation programs across the U.S. or a researcher in the field of human performance.
- The Exercise Physiology concentration is designed for students to enter a career as a professor or postdoctoral research fellow in one of over 700 exercise physiology/kinesiology programs across the U.S.
- The Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) concentration prepares students with the research skills and teaching experiences required to excel as a faculty member in higher education.
- The Psychology of Physical Activity concentration prepares students to teach, conduct research and apply knowledge in areas related to the correlates and determinants of physical activity, mental health benefits of physical activity, behavior change techniques and the design, implementation and testing of evidence-based physical activity interventions. Completion of this concentration will not lead to students becoming licensed psychologists.
- The concentration in Rehabilitation Science teaches students will hone skills of oral and written communication of scientific information, which will help to prepare them for academic and research positions in universities, private research institutions, government agencies, private industries and the public policy sector.
- The Sport Administration concentration is designed for students to enter a career as a professor in one of 450+ sport management programs across the U.S.
