Lab Coordinator

The Lab Coordinator will oversee the labs of Drs. Luke Hyde and Christopher Monk, as well as oversee work on the Study of Adolescent to Adult Neural Development (SAND). The Lab Coordinator will supervise research tech/lab manager staff and train new staff and graduate students on data collection. This position will also oversee data collection and organization; organize RedCap databases and organize data sharing and documentation, as well as oversee all study related logistics including IRB documentation, participant logistics (e.g., HSIP, travel, scheduling of participants and staff), and staff training and implementation of study protocols. This staff member will also assist in mentoring of staff, undergraduate, and graduate students on using and analyzing data, as well as recruit and mentor undergraduate students, including those engaged in each lab for academic credit, The Lab Coordinator will also help with financial tracking and planning by coordinating with the business office and other staff to help the PIs make financially informed scientific decision. Finally, this staff member will provide assistance with grant writing, with progress reports, and other grant funding related tasks.
Responsible for operation of a specialized area (the SAND grant and staff and study logistics) with two faculty members, which includes operating with considerable latitude in unreviewed actions or decisions. The job duties include:
- Independently oversees research staff and trains new staff and graduate students in data collection; manages onboarding, daily workflows, quality control, and cross-project coordination. In doing so, this staff member will develop protocol and procedures for data collection, and suggest options for improving quality, identifies potential problems in protocol and recommends and implements solutions.
- Leads data collection and curation; administers and maintains RedCap databases; manages data-sharing procedures and study documentation (e.g. creation and maintenance of a data dictionary).
- Manages end-to-end study operations, including IRB submissions/maintenance, participant logistics (HSIP, travel, scheduling), and staff training to ensure protocol fidelity. Will oversee all staff on all day to day study operations, ensuring that all IRB protocols are up to date and new issues are submitted with skill and timeliness; will oversee the complex logistics of our study (e.g., making sure staff coordinate flights, hotel reservations, travel logistics for our participants), and will train staff and then shadow them on data collection visits to monitor fidelity with the protocol.
- Provides mentorship to staff, undergraduate students, and graduate students on using and analyzing data.
- Recruiting and mentoring undergraduate students, including those for credit.
- Tracks and forecasts study finances; partners with the business office; consults PIs on budget-informed scientific planning and decision-making.
- Contributes with grant writing, with progress reports, and other grant funding related tasks.
- Master's degree and 4 to 5 years related experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Prior experience in research, lab management, and grant submissions.
- Proficiency in experimental design and data collection.
- Supervisory and financial management experience preferred.
- Experience with overseeing and running a very large study that is logistically challenging.
- Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.

This is a 12-month term-limited position with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is July 1st, 2026.
