Laboratory and Facilities Manager

The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is a large academic research Department studying the nervous system to find new treatments for neurological disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. We also study neurosurgical topics, addressing care and patient support for those affected by traumatic brain injury and other disorders of the nervous system. Research from the Department has real life impact, and we have an opportunity for a Laboratory and Facilities Manager to join us.

As a member of the Department Business Operations Team, the Laboratory and Facilities Manager will manage the Department's facilities across its occupied buildings whilst also fulfilling the role of Safety Officer for the Department. The role will regularly liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide the most effective and efficient support to the Department's research outputs, experiencing regularly how their decisions impact our research successes.

The role is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and on confirmation of appointment, the successful candidate may adopt the Department's hybrid working model. Given the nature of the role, the post is expected to be present on site for most of the time.

The successful candidate will have significant experience and understanding of the health and safety guidelines governing our research and will be experienced working with biological and chemical materials. Previous safety specialist experience and experience of research laboratory equipment and environments is essential.
