Laboratory Executive, Immunopathology and Cell Therapy (2-year contract)

Job Description

Role purpose
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Executive to join our Immunopathology team. The role supports the application of immunologic methods for patients diagnosed with haematologic malignancies in order to:

  1. precisely classify malignant cells at diagnosis and at relapse/recurrence,
  2. monitor response to treatment throughout therapy, and
  3. monitor and characterise genetically engineered cells in patients enrolled in cell therapy protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sample processing and testing
    • Receive, process, and prepare patient specimens in accordance with approved SOPs and biosafety requirements.
    • Perform required immunology-based laboratory assays according to validated methods and documentation standards.
    • Record, verify, and maintain accurate test documentation and related records.
  2. Quality management
    • Participate in internal quality control activities (e.g., run controls, trend review, documentation of deviations).
    • Support external quality assessment/proficiency testing where applicable.
    • Assist in investigating non-conformities and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as directed.
  3. Laboratory operations and administration
    • Maintain laboratory records, documentation of workflows, and controlled documents (e.g., SOPs, forms, logs) in line with quality requirements.
    • Maintain and update laboratory databases and sample/testing logs to ensure traceability and data integrity.
    • Support preparations for Ministry of Health (MOH) licensing, audits, and inspections, including collation of required evidence and records.
  4. Equipment maintenance and readiness
    • Coordinate and document daily, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance checks for laboratory equipment.
    • Liaise with vendors/service engineers for servicing and repairs; ensure maintenance logs are complete and up to date.
    • Monitor inventory/consumables as assigned and support timely replenishment.
  5. Laboratory housekeeping and safety
    • Maintain general laboratory housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
    • Follow waste disposal, decontamination, and safety practices in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Biological Sciences or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates without prior laboratory experience are welcome; full training will be provided.
  • Strong ability to follow written SOPs and understand technical instructions and laboratory workflows.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
