Laboratory Research Assistant

Laboratory Research Assistant (Part-time/Contractual C1)

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking Laboratory Research Assistant. This a part-time non-exempt contractual position in the Center for Vascular and Inflammatory Diseases, and will be as needed for up to 39 hours per week.

The mission of the laboratory is to investigate the molecular pathways of cancer and vascular diseases. The selected candidate will be involved in helping with the maintenance/oversight of the mouse colonies, and helping with the genotyping of the newly received mice. Duties will also be involved in histology work, and general laboratory work based on need.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or field of study related to the research of the laboratory.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in laboratory environment preferred. Consideration may be given for a unique combination of education and biology or chemistry experience, such as: - Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with at least 18 credits in a field related to the research in a laboratory, as appropriate, or - Bachelor's degree in unrelated field with at least one (1) year of laboratory experience, as appropriate.
