Job Description
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head/Neck Surgery is seeking a highly motivated applicant for a Laboratory Technician II position with duties to include:
- Conduct preclinical studies evaluating novel therapeutic interventions for olfactory loss using murine models of chronic sinusitis, in compliance with IACUC protocols.
- Perform flow cytometric analysis of murine and human airway tissues, including experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, and interpretation.
- Execute ELISA and cytometric bead array assays for biomarker quantification in clinical trial specimens.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and maintaining supplies and reagents.
- Collect and process human tissue samples from operating rooms, including cataloging, establishing primary cell cultures, and preparing specimens for downstream applications.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Coursework or academic background in immunology or related biomedical sciences is advantageous; training will be provided given the unique assays conducted by the laboratory.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by experimental timelines.
Preferred
Experience working with mice and/or immunological assays is preferred.
