Job Summary
The Community Partnerships and Advancement Manager has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, strengthen Lamar State College Port Arthur's relationships with business and industry, alumni, donors, community organizations, and other external partners. The Community Partnerships and Advancement Manager will play an important role in expanding fundraising and alumni engagement, developing community and industry partnerships, supporting the LSCPA Foundation, and increasing the College's presence and engagement throughout Southeast Texas. This position will represent LSCPA throughout the community, strengthen existing relationships, develop new opportunities, and work collaboratively across the College to advance institutional priorities. This is a full-time position that reports to the LSCPA’s Athletics Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
Advancement & External Partnerships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business and industry, alumni, donors, community organizations, civic leaders, and other external stakeholders
- Support donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition activities.
- Support and advance LSCPA Foundation and alumni engagement efforts
- Identify and pursue sponsorships, philanthropic opportunities, and strategic partnerships that support College priorities
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with business and industry that enhance LSCPA's connections with employers and the Southeast Texas community
- Represent LSCPA at chambers of commerce, civic organizations, industry meetings, community events, and other external activities
- Work collaboratively with college leadership, faculty, and staff to identify opportunities for external partnerships and engagement
Events & Engagement
- Coordinate donor, alumni, Foundation, community, and external-relations events and activities
- Develop and coordinate sponsorship opportunities associated with major college events and initiatives
- Coordinate visits and engagement opportunities involving donors, alumni, business and industry leaders, community partners, and other external stakeholders
- Support activities that increase awareness of and engagement with LSCPA throughout the community
Advancement Operations
- Maintain accurate donor, alumni, partner, and other constituent records using appropriate College systems
- Track contacts, gifts, sponsorships, stewardship activities, partnerships, and other engagement activity
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, presentations, correspondence, and other materials for the Vice President and President
- Assist with measuring and reporting advancement, alumni, and community-partnership activities and outcomes
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Three (3) years of relevant professional experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, comfort working with basic data and reports, and ability to learn and use other technology systems.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in advancement, fundraising, community relations, external affairs, alumni relations, business development, economic development, nonprofit leadership, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience developing relationships with business and industry, donors, alumni, civic organizations, or community partners.
- Experience with fundraising, sponsorship development, donor stewardship, or nonprofit/Foundation activities.
- Knowledge of Southeast Texas business, industry, civic, and community organizations, or experience developing similar regional relationships.
- Experience using CRM, donor-management, or constituent-engagement systems.
- Familiarity with social media and digital platforms to support community engagement, relationship building, or advancement activities.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Travel:
Frequent travel is required.
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week. Frequent evenings and weekends.

Lamar State College - Port Arthur, a member of The Texas State University System, is an open-access, comprehensive public two-year college offering quality and affordable instruction leading to associate degrees and a variety of certificates.
