Scope of Position
The Lead Anesthesia Technician works under the supervision of the Manager, Anesthesia Services and performs a variety of anesthesia equipment and supply related tasks. Provides diagnostic and treatment services during regular recurring critical care situations: set up, check, inspect, maintain and calibrate a variety of anesthesia equipment. Performs various anesthesia specialized treatment procedures that will significantly affect the accuracy and reliability of further processes associated with the anesthetic course of the patient. The team reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team consisting of registered nurses, surgical technologist, anesthesiologist, CRNAs, and surgeon provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward achievement of patient care outcomes, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization and decreasing costs.
Additionally, the Lead Anesthesia Technician is responsible for coordinating Anesthesia and auto transfusion services, including technical and logistical support to the physicians and hospital staff for surgical procedures. The Lead Anesthesia Technician will supervise other Anesthesia Technicians according to shift, and make sure all duties The Lead Anesthesia Technician will help make daily assignment schedules and make sure all Anesthesia Technicians stay on task.

For Hire: Per Classified Civil Service Requirements. High school graduate or possess a G.E.D., 3 months patient care experience or equivalent; 3 months experience working with medical equipment or equivalent. A Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cert. A.T.) is preferred but not required. Experience in anesthesia equipment management preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals preferred. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence preferred. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred.
Required Qualifications
At least 2 years of Anesthesia Technician experience, must be willing and able to take call and work Monday through Friday.
