This post will involve working on a project to assess the acceptability of portable radiofrequency assessment of breast density, as part of an overall assessment of breast cancer risk in women aged 30 to 49 years. It will involve working with women who will be offered this form of assessment in Manchester, and healthcare providers who will deliver it. The present post will contribute to a wider programme of evaluation of risk assessment of breast cancer risk assessment in younger work.
The main purpose of the post is to collect focus group data from women offered this assessment and interview data from health care professionals, to conduct thematic analyses, and to produce manuscripts for publication.
The successful applicant will be based in the Manchester Centre of Health Psychology http://research.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/healthpsychology and be part of a wider multidisciplinary team, working particularly with Prof David French (health psychologist) and Dr Sacha Howell (medical oncologist). It will also involve working closely with other researchers on related projects. The post-holder will be affiliated with Manchester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (Prevention and Early Detection theme).
