Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advanced Vehicle & Equipment Diagnostics and Repair
- Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of vehicles, equipment, trailers, and powered assets utilizing manufacturer specifications, diagnostic software, service information systems, and specialized testing equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic system failures.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
- Serve as the lead technical resource within the Service Center and provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to technicians and support staff.
Problem Solving and Fleet Reliability
- Analyze complex equipment failures and perform root-cause analysis to identify and implement effective corrective actions.
Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance
- Perform all work in accordance with University, departmental, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Customer Service and Collaboration
- Provide professional, responsive, and customer-focused service to campus partners, Fleet Management teammates, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
Service Center Operations and Fleet Systems
- Accurately document inspections, diagnostics, repairs, labor, parts usage, and maintenance recommendations within the FASTER Fleet Management System.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the field of work related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in automotive/internal combustion engine (ICE) diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Training, experience, certifications in electric vehicle (EV) systems, including high-voltage safety, battery systems, and diagnostics for platforms such as Club Car, GEM, MAX EV, or similar
