The Role
As a Learning Development Academic Mentor, you will support Senior Leader Level 7 apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey. You will ensure learners are effectively inducted, motivated, progressing well, and receiving timely feedback in line with apprenticeship standards and university expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting onboarding of new apprentices and ensuring eligibility requirements are met.
- Contributing to induction activities and helping learners transition into their programme.
- Monitoring learner engagement, progress, and achievement through regular reviews.
- Providing high-quality personal, academic, and professional mentoring.
- Delivering workshops, tutorials, and learning development activities.
- Providing detailed, constructive feedback to help learners meet apprenticeship standards.
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance and external regulatory expectations.
- Collaborating with academic and professional services colleagues to support learner success.
- Supporting academics in peer review and teaching development initiatives.
- Enhancing apprentice experience, satisfaction, and employability outcomes.
- Assisting the Faculty with strategic objectives and continuous improvement.
- Contributing to efficient administration of apprenticeship programmes.
- Representing the University at recruitment, marketing, outreach, and public engagement events.
- Participating in visits to schools, community groups, employers, and other stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s and/or PhD in Business, Management, or Leadership-related subjects.
- Proven industry experience in a related role.
- Proven experience in learning development coaching or mentoring.
- Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary business and leadership practices.
