Lecturer/Assistant Instructional Professor
Job Description
This is a 12-month, non-tenure-accruing, faculty position that will be 100% teaching available in the Entomology and Nematology Department within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florida. The salary is competitive and comes with a full benefits package, with initial funding for two years and a possible extension pending funding availability. A successful candidate with a Ph.D. degree would be eligible to use the ‘Instructional Assistant Professor' working title.
Expected Duties
This position will support the teaching mission of our large and expanding undergraduate and graduate programs in Entomology and Nematology. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester (including summers) and may assist with development of new courses. The courses taught will be a mix of in-person and online courses including (1) courses related to the biology and management of insect pests, (2) general entomology courses for non-majors, and (3) a course related to insects as vectors of disease. This assignment may change in accordance with the needs of the Department and IFAS.
The successful candidate is encouraged to participate in scholarly activities related to instruction, which may include participating in curriculum revision and enhancement, supervising undergraduate students, conducting and publishing teaching-related scholarship, producing learning tools, or engaging in professional development activities related to teaching and advising.
