Job Summary
Dalton State College invites applications for a full-time, 10-month faculty position in English, beginning on August 1, 2026. Depending on experience and qualifications, the appointment will be made at either the tenure-track Assistant Professor or Lecturer level.

Dalton State seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching writing and literature to a diverse student body in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Teaching responsibilities are 24 credit hours per academic year for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or 27 credit hours per academic year for a Lecturer. Courses may include composition, literature, and other English offerings at both the core and upper-division levels.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience or expertise in Learning Support English and ESOL.

Minimum Starting Salary
$53,000 with a doctorate in a tenure track position; $44,000 for Lecturer. Salary commensurate with education level and experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses at the undergraduate level.
- Academic advising and mentoring students.
- Participate in service activities.
- Engage students in undergraduate research projects.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold an earned masters degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate. College classroom teaching experience. Experience or interest in supervising undergraduate research.
