Job Summary
The Lecturer in Teacher Education and Interdisciplinary Studies is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, advising and mentoring students, and supporting program coordination within the Hyundai College of Education. This position contributes to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of teacher certification and interdisciplinary degree pathways. The Lecturer plays a key role in delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction and supporting the academic and professional success of a the college's student population, in alignment with the mission and goals of the Hyundai College of Education.

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Teacher Education and Interdisciplinary Studies using engaging, student-centered instructional practices.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, program planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to support student success, retention, and career readiness.
- Actively participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- Support accreditation, assessment, and reporting processes as needed.
- Engage in scholarly and professional activities related to teaching and interdisciplinary studies.
- Design and deliver instruction across multiple modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Maintain current knowledge of Georgia curriculum standards, certification requirements, and instructional best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in P-12 settings.
- Valid teaching certification and demonstrated familiarity with Georgia curriculum standards.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses using effective, student-centered instructional practices.
- Experience with academic advising, mentoring, or supporting various student populations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach in multiple modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Interdisciplinary Studies, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in a college or university setting, particularly in teacher preparation or interdisciplinary programs.
- Experience with curriculum development, program coordination, or accreditation/assessment processes (e.g., GaPSC).
- Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., D2L) and instructional technology tools.
- Evidence of scholarly or professional engagement related to teaching and learning.
- Experience supporting teacher certification pathways and/or field-based clinical experiences.
Proposed Salary
The proposed salary for the Lecturer position in Teacher Education and Interdisciplinary Studies is $52,500.00 annually.

- Demonstrated knowledge of P-12 instructional practices, interdisciplinary approaches, and Georgia curriculum standards.
- Strong instructional planning skills with the ability to effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., D2L/Brightspace) and other educational technologies.
- Ability to work effectively with all student populations.
- Strong skills in student engagement, supervision, and academic support.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a combination of sitting, standing, and occasional bending or stooping.
- May require occasional lifting of light materials or equipment.
- Work is conducted in classroom, office, and/or online instructional environments.
