DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

Lecturer I / Lecturer II (25260592)

The Department invites applications for the position of Lecturer specialising in mathematics, in particular operations research, statistics, or an area complementing the Department’s teaching profile.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching courses in his/her fields of expertise;
• Teaching general education courses offered by the Department;
• Curriculum design or related matters;
• Supervising student projects and fieldwork practice;
• Promotional activities for the University, Faculty or Department; and
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess a relevant PhD Degree and teaching experience is preferred. They are expected to be energetic and motivated, and actively participate in current teaching programmes of the Department. The appointee may need to conduct teaching in the collaborated institution BNBU, Zhuhai. They should have good communication skills, and be proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua). They should also be student-oriented, a self-starter and a congenial team player.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Lecturer II.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
