We are seeking a committed and qualified Lecturer II/Assistant Lecturer to join our academic team.
Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum Development
- Teach courses in areas such as cultural management, creative industries, arts administration, cultural studies, and related subjects;
- Develop and revise course materials that integrate industry practice with critical cultural theory;
- Supervise student projects, including honors projects, internships, and industry-based assignments; and
- Contribute to programme review and enhancement in alignment with evolving industry trends.
Industry Engagement and Networking
- Leverage industry connections and facilitate partnerships with relevant stakeholders to create internship, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities for students; and
- Support students’ career development within cultural and creative sectors.
Academic and Administrative Duties
- Participate in programme administration and quality assurance processes;
- Contribute to student advising and academic mentorship; and
- Engage in service activities at programme, school, or institutional levels as required.
Requirements:
- A recognised master’s degree or above in Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, Arts Administration, Creative Industries, or a closely related field. A doctoral degree is preferred;
- Substantial professional experience in cultural management, curatorial practice, arts administration, creative entrepreneurship, or related sectors. A demonstrated track record of industry collaboration and a well-established professional network in cultural and creative fields will be an advantage;
- Proven teaching experience in Cultural Studies, Creative Industries, Arts and Cultural Management, or closely related subjects at tertiary level;
- A strong commitment to student-centred teaching and experiential learning; and
- A track record of high-quality research outputs clearly linked to the teaching expertise outlined in the description of the full-time position.
Applicants must show dedication and strong commitment in teaching and education within and beyond the classroom. They must also be a good team player with excellent communication skills. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Lecturer.
Reference salary range:
Lecturer II: HK$38,000 - HK$53,000
Assistant Lecturer: HK$30,000 - HK$39,000
The appointee will work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
