Lecturer in English for Specific Purpose (ESP) or English for Academic Purpose (EAP)
Job Responsibilities
- Teaching English for English for Specific Purposes (ESP) or Academic Purposes (EAP) to undergraduate students
- Preparing and delivering engaging, student-focused lessons
- Designing and assessing both formative and summative assessments
- Supporting curriculum development and contributing to the enhancement of academic programs
- Providing academic and pastoral support to students
- Attending staff meetings and participating in events to promote the programs
- Accept other tasks of staff training or project development in the English Department
- Complete other special tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Key Requirements
Required
- A Native Speaker of English
- A Bachelor s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a field related to the Majors taught at BiUH
- At least 2 years full-time working experience in teaching English at university level, and part of this experience must be teaching EAP/ESP
- Classroom management and interpersonal skills and the ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment
- Ability to inspire students through teaching and adjust to their learning needs
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and to take on and accept responsibility and work to deadlines
- Ability to adapt and create own teaching materials
Preferred
- A Master s degree in English, Linguistics, Education or a related field
- Experience of teaching classes of international students.
- Cambridge CELTA, Trinity Certificate TESOL, or equivalent with a face-to-face teaching component
