Position Overview
Music Education Lecturer (1.0 FTE). The School of Music at The Ohio State University seeks a full-time Lecturer in General Music Education to teach undergraduate methods courses in general music education and other areas consistent with the candidate’s expertise; engage in leadership and mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students in music education; and supervise student teachers and early field experience.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Master’s degree in music education with a general music education emphasis required.
Desired: PhD in music education with a general music education emphasis preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a culturally diverse intellectual community in line with Ohio State’s Shared Values (see below).

Department Information
The School of Music, housed in the new Timashev Family Music Building, is home to a faculty of nationally and internationally recognized performing artists, composers, scholars, and master teachers who are specialists in their fields. The faculty serves a student body of approximately 300 undergraduate and 90 graduate music majors, as well as hundreds of non-music majors who are pursuing music minors, taking classes, or participating in one of the many performance ensembles.
