Are you passionate about development and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning? Would you be interested in an opportunity to support and implement the strategic visions for a health innovation hub aligned within a Medical School? If so, this may be an opportunity for you!

The purpose of the Lecture in Innovation and Healthcare is to develop and contribute to the delivery of one of nine innovative major themes that KMMS has introduced into its programme. These themes cut across the horizontal integration of basic sciences and clinical practice in the curriculum and provide the vehicle for introducing some of the additional curricular elements into our programme.

We are seeking an inspirational and entrepreneurial educator to contribute to teaching across all five years of the school’s undergraduate medicine programme with a particular focus on Innovation in Healthcare. This teaching will distinguish the KMMS programme in its vision of producing graduates who will have the curiosity, academic, professional and clinical skills to find global solutions to local challenges and whose training will have prepared them to lead, manage and innovate in 21st Century healthcare

As a Lecture in Innovation and Healthcare you can expect to be involved in:

  • Delivering and contributing to the design of high-quality undergraduate level learning and teaching activities
  • Supporting the establishment and growth of innovation activities within KMMS and Health Innovation KSS including a programme of activities, outputs and leverage in additional funding.
  • Playing an active role in all aspects of programme development and management, including (but not limited to) module design and development, recruitment and admissions, marketing, student support, planning and quality assurance.

What will you bring to the role?

  • A primary degree or equivalent in a subject related to the undergraduate medical programme at KMMS
  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience in a subject relevant to the BM BS programme
  • Experience of teaching Clinical Healthcare Professional learners to undergraduate or postgraduate level in a clinical or academic setting
  • Experience of effective teaching and assessment of medical students in a Higher Education setting

What we can offer in return:

As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing. You'll enjoy a range of great staff benefits including:

  • 43 days' leave per year (personal leave, bank holidays and additional days allocated for the Christmas period, pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions
  • Corporate employee-funded healthcare plan, in partnership with Benenden Health
