Lecturer in Nursing
Who are we?
The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
As a Lecturer in Nursing, you will:
- Lead unit teaching teams to design, deliver and continuously refine high‑quality curricula, learning resources and assessment practices that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Embed industry, clinical and research insights into teaching to strengthen relevance, engagement and real‑world application for diverse learners.
- Drive innovation in curriculum and pedagogy, adopting learner‑centric, research‑informed approaches across multiple levels and modes of delivery.
- Advance educational excellence and scholarship by contributing to pedagogical research, supporting junior colleagues, and building capability within teaching teams.
- Initiate and contribute to impactful research and industry partnerships, including securing funding, leading interdisciplinary collaborations, supervising HDR students, and translating research into real‑world outcomes.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- PhD in a relevant discipline, or equivalent qualifications and experience, with a strong record of scholarly teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs, including innovative curriculum design.
- Emerging research reputation demonstrated through publications, exhibitions and/or success in securing external research funding, with the ability to contribute to communities through impactful research.
- Capacity for academic leadership, including contributing to research leadership, administrative responsibilities, and fostering effective, collegial working relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support positive team culture.
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, supported by recent clinical experience in general nursing.
