Lecturer of Chemistry & Biochemistry
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at SUNY Oneonta invites applications from individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students to join us as a Lecturer. In this role, instructors primarily teach General Chemistry laboratory courses, with additional opportunities to teach in areas aligned with their expertise and interests. Our department currently has a cohesive group of nine full-time and a few part-time faculty members who serve approximately 60 majors and 240 students from other departments each semester. With a training program approved by the American Chemical Society, our active research programs encompass inorganic, organic, biochemical, computational, environmental, and medicinal chemistry, along with synthetic biology.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teaching General Chemistry I and General Chemistry II, or other assigned courses based on interest and expertise.
- Holding office hours for students.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Science Education.
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or research.
- Experience serving diverse and/or multicultural populations.
