Job Overview
PNW seeks a motivated Computer Science educator to teach introductory and intermediate programming courses, with potential to teach other areas such as:
- Data structures
- Operating systems
- Discrete mathematics
- Computer architecture
- Networking
- Databases
- Software engineering
- Artificial intelligence
- Other specialty areas supporting department priorities
The role emphasizes: curriculum development, student evaluation and advising, and engagement with department and program initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in computer science, both lecture and lab settings
- Develop and update course materials and curriculum
- Advise and mentor students
- Contribute to recruitment and marketing of the CS program
- Serve on departmental, school, or university committees
- Engage in scholarly activity related to teaching
- Maintain current professional knowledge and skills
Qualifications
Required:
- M.S. in Computer Science (or ABD) or related field by August 3, 2026
- Demonstrated or strong potential for outstanding teaching
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Preferred / Desirable:
- Breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of computer science
- Experience contributing to curriculum development
- Evidence of engagement in professional organizations or research
