Lecturer of Psychology

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
The Department of Psychology and Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a Full-Time Lecturer to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for teaching various experimental courses at the undergraduate level. These courses include but are not limited to research methods, statistics, cognition, learning, physiological, or social psychology.

Educational Requirements for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):
Candidates must at least have a Master's degree in Psychology, although a preference will be given for candidates with a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited University prior to the start date. Candidates must have at least a Master's degree conferred by the start date of the position.
Experience Required for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):
Candidates are expected to have previous experience and education in statistics and research methods. Instructors with training and/or experience in online instruction are encouraged to apply, although the primary teaching responsibilities are expected to be for face-to-face instruction.
Additional duties for this position are as follows: Teach 6-8 undergraduate courses per academic year (with a possibility of teaching additional courses during the summer, if desired, and the potential for teaching graduate courses if candidate meets the qualifications to do so.) Present a working knowledge of relevant curricula. Mentor undergraduate students, as appropriate
