• Salary: Lecturer (Level B) – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation; Senior Lecturer (Level C) – AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation

• 2-Year Convertible Tenure Track or continuing appointment

The Opportunity

Join the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. In this role, you will contribute to the advancement of research and education in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence, while helping to shape the next generation of AI researchers and practitioners.

You will conduct research in areas such as the integration of machine learning and symbolic reasoning to address complex and structured problems, and the development of robust and interpretable AI systems that advance the integration of learning and reasoning paradigms, contributing to high-impact research outcomes and the School’s growing research profile.

About You

You are an emerging or established academic with a strong foundation in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence, with the ability to contribute to high-quality research and teaching.

Skills & Experience

Lecturer (Level B)

• A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

Senior Lecturer (Level C)

• A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
• Experience in successfully recruiting and supervising high calibre students.
