Library Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our Special Collections & Archives team at Maynooth University Library. This Library Assistant role offers a unique opportunity to engage with distinctive rare books, manuscripts, and archival materials across both the John Paul II Library and the Russell Library. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you will contribute to delivering an excellent experience for researchers, staff, students, and visitors.

Following an initial training period, you will take on a varied role that combines frontline service with behind-the-scenes collections work. This includes supporting access to Special Collections, assisting users with enquiries, and contributing to the care and preservation of rare and historic materials. You will also play a part in bringing collections to wider audiences through teaching support, outreach activities, and exhibitions.
