Maintenance Apprentice
Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain, repair and make improvements to facilities as instructed.
- Assist the various trades and carry out duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Will assist in the repair, maintenance and installation of various components that are consistent with the assigned shop. Rotations may include Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC/Mechanical, Trades and Central Plant.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
- One year experience in basic maintenance or trades, including use of common tools and equipment, or two years of vocational training.
- General knowledge of skilled trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical or HVAC.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be able to follow instructions and carry out task assigned.
- Must have both written and oral skills.
- Knowledge of safe working procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements to operate a university vehicle.
