Job Description
Reporting to Faculty Finance Lead, the incumbent will serve as a Finance Business Partner to the Dean’s Office, Departments/Units within the Faculty of Arts and Social Science. The role provides financial and business advisories to the internal stakeholders that are critical to their decision-making purposes and ensure compliance with University’s financial policies and procedures, and funding agencies’ terms & conditions/guidelines. The individual will foster and maintain a regular working relationship within the Faculty, Departments, central shared services teams, and other functional partners. The role also supports the operationalisation of faculty initiatives and the enhancement of finance processes and reporting capabilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Finance Business Partnering:
- Provide Finance Business Partnering Support to faculty by working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver financial insights and advice aligned with business objectives.
- Support faculty stakeholders, managing financial queries and fostering effective communication.
- Manage department-level financial matters, including resource utilisation and research grant management, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with NUS Financial Policies and Procedures.
- Support the financial modelling and practical implementation of faculty and departmental initiatives as required.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting:
- Strategic Financial Planning, analysis & Reporting: Support long-term financial planning, budgeting, financial management reporting to the Central Financial Planning & Analysis Team & Faculty of Arts and Social Science Leadership Team.
- Reporting & Compliance: Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports for leadership and stakeholders (e.g. Budget utilization and fund balance reports). Develop and enhance financial reporting tools and dashboards to support monitoring of departmental financial positions and new initiatives.
