Salary Range: $114,151 - $128,065 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

Work that matters

Reporting to the Associate Director, Research Accounting, you will lead the Research Accounting team to deliver high-quality research accounting services, ensuring financial compliance, effective reporting, and support for the University’s research objectives in alignment with Adelaide University’s strategic ambitions. You will manage the delivery of accurate and timely research and financial reporting requirements, provide expert advice to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of research accounting processes, including the use of technology.

The team

As part of the Corporate Portfolio, the Finance function provides strategic financial advice to allow effective decision making, financial reporting for compliance and governance, management reporting, procurement services and transactional finance processes.

Experience

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

Completion of a relevant CA or CPA qualification is required

Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team in a research accounting or financial services environment

Extensive experience providing subject matter financial expertise to inform financial decision-making by stakeholders

Experience managing finances within a large, complex organisation, including detailed accounting and financial analysis

Up-to-date knowledge of current financial legislation, regulations, accounting principles, standards, policies, and practices

Experience communicating professionally and responsively with key stakeholders

Experience managing multiple high-level functions with competing priorities and deadlines, and applying expert problem-solving skills to complex issues
