- Base salary range: $134,288 – $142,099 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
Student Equity supports students from underrepresented and priority cohorts to realise their higher education aspirations and partners across the university to strengthen equitable access, participation and success. The team contributes to the university's strategic priorities of empowering education, growing and supporting student diversity and enriching the student experience. Student Equity delivers targeted pre-access initiatives that foster early engagement and support informed decision-making, alongside coordinated and tailored support to help students navigate the transition to university and thrive throughout their studies. Guided by evidence, evaluation and student voice, the team continually reviews and refines its practice while providing leadership and advice across the university to improve outcomes for students.
About the opportunity
- Lead and manage the unit in the conceptualisation, development, and implementation of university-wide strategies that support access and success for students from underrepresented cohorts.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and other key stakeholders, on student equity issues and institutional priorities.
- Represent Student Equity at strategic university forums and working groups to influence policy and practice across the institution.
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification in education or a relevant area, or equivalent professional competency.
- Substantial and extensive management experience in the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of equity and access initiatives, preferably gained in a University environment or similar complex organisation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a role that includes strategic planning, team and project leadership and the management and development of staff within a high-impact functional area.
- Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, including demonstrated ability to lead long-term planning and key strategic direction.
- Demonstrated expertise in budget development, resource management, and financial oversight to support sustainable program delivery.
