Marketing Manager
Overview
Marketing Manager reports to David Geffen School of Drama at Yale/Yale Repertory Theatre (DGSD/YRT) Director of Marketing & Communications, including day-to-day direction from the Senior Associate Director of Marketing & Communications. Develops strategies and plans for: integrated social media and electronic marketing campaigns for DGSD/YRT, YRT audience development, and single ticket campaigns for DGSD.
Essential Duties
- Develops and implements overarching social media plans for YRT and DGSD.
- Oversees the YRT and DGSD email communications portfolio, including development and governance of templates, and supervises the design and deployment of email marketing and related outreach.
- Under supervision of Director of Marketing & Communications oversees, develops, and executes institutional and individual production marketing and audience development strategies, plans, and analytics.
- Develops strategies and plan for single ticket campaigns for DGSD.
- Develops overarching strategies pertaining to DGSD productions and YRT subscriptions campaign.
- Provide editorial support for department, including copy writing, editing, proofreading.
- Develops overarching marketing strategies pertaining to DGSD productions and initiatives and manages DGSD Single Ticket expense and revenue budgets.
- Builds and maintains relationships with Yale and New Haven community organizations and groups; manages and hosts YRT audience development and audience engagement events.
- Develops, manages, and maintains the DGSD/YRT media library.
- Maintains DGSD professional names list and electronic biography files.
- In the absence of Publications Manager, covers all aspects of that portfolio.
- Mentors and trains students.
- And other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing & Communications.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong self-starter who excels in a team environment. Strongly demonstrated ability to market a professional theater.
- Strongly demonstrated prioritization, time-management, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Strongly demonstrated familiarity with and passion for communicating with audiences through social media platforms.
- Strongly demonstrated excellent graphic design, typography, and image processing skills.
- Strongly demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, proofreading, and editing skills.
Preferred Education & Experience
Tessitura experience. Degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Theater Management, or Arts Administration.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
