Responsibilities

Here's a sneak peek at your daily tasks:
- Patient Care and History: You'll be the friendly face greeting our pediatric patients and their families, collecting important medical history, and making sure each child feels comfortable, safe, and cared for.
- Casting & Clinic Care: Help apply and remove custom casts, assist with removing surgical pins, sutures, and post-op dressings, and guide patients on how to use braces, boots, crutches, splints, and other Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
- Clinic Support: You'll be the go-to expert for keeping the clinic running smoothly, from documenting in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system with accuracy to coordinating appointments and scheduling.
- Back Office Support: Whether you're answering patient calls, prepping charts, or making post-op follow-up calls, your organizational skills will be key in keeping things efficient and organized behind the scenes.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- One of the following: Current Advanced EMT certification with the State of Utah; Current certification to practice as a Paramedic in the State of Utah; Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through AAMA; Currently credentialed in ABR-OE (Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry) through AAMA; Current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT; Current certification as a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through NCCT; Current Clinical Medical Assistant Certification through NHA; Current certification as a NRCMA - Medical Assistant through the National Association for Health Professionals.
- If candidate is not certified upon hire, they must have completed an accredited Medical Assisting program before date of hire.
- One of the indicated certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.
