Responsibilities and Duties
Supply and Lab Management
- Oversee laboratory management, including organizing and evaluating inventory, ordering and maintaining supplies, managing supply closets, and maintaining up-to-date supply listings to support instruction.
Instructor Management
Instructor Support:
- Meet with instructional teams prior to course starts to review expectations, schedules, and course delivery.
- Consult with instructors regarding curriculum and material updates.
- Maintain and update course syllabi and instructional documentation.
Instructor recruitment:
- Identify and recruit subject matter experts qualified to provide clinical instruction.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new clinical instructors.
- Collect, review, and assess course and instructor evaluations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Externship Management
- Manage externship placement processes for healthcare programs.
- Provide externship overviews and expectations to students during the first week of class.
- Match students with externship sites based on student interest, availability, and partner capacity.
- Communicate with externship placement coordinators to confirm placements, start dates, and successful onboarding.
- Assist in resolving student attendance, professionalism, or behavioral concerns during externships.
- Collaborate with program support staff to review timesheets and ensure completion of externship requirements.
- Follow up with externship partners regarding student performance and potential employment opportunities.
Student Support
- Provide ongoing student support for CCMA, EKG, and related healthcare programs.
- Hold regular weekly office hours for student advising and academic support.
- Monitor student progress within self-paced learning management systems for NHA courses and proactively contact students who are behind or not meeting expectations.
- Address student attendance, conduct, and performance concerns throughout the program lifecycle.
Instruction
- Provide classroom, laboratory, and/or hybrid instruction for up to 200 instructional hours annually for CCMA, EKG, Phlebotomy courses.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on healthcare instruction aligned with industry standards and certification requirements.
- Prepare instructional materials, assessments, and learning activities that support student success and workforce readiness.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three years of experience.
- Current healthcare credential or certification relevant to the instructional area required.
- Teaching, training, or workforce development experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with instructors, students, and external partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and administrative systems.
- Experience with learning management systems, like blackboard
- Familiarity with NHA
- Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repair coordination of specialized healthcare instructional equipment and task trainers to ensure operational readiness and compliance with instructional standards.
- Coordinate service and repair requests for clinical training equipment, including EKG machines and other laboratory devices, working with vendors and internal departments as needed.
- Lift, transport, and set up instructional materials, medical equipment, and supply boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Bend, reach, stand for extended periods, and demonstrate clinical and laboratory procedures for instructional purposes.
- Combination of office, classroom, laboratory, clinical, and satellite campus environments.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Local travel between campuses and externship locations may be necessary.
