Mental Health Clinician
Shenandoah University’s Office of Counseling is accepting applications for a Mental Health Clinician. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
Shenandoah University’s Licensed Mental Health Clinician is a skilled and enthusiastic collegiate counselor with a primary role of providing individual and group counseling for SU students. This individual will provide mental health counseling services to students in a manner that demonstrates commitment to the University mission and its diverse student population. Will provide developmental and educational support to college students in the form of goal oriented individual counseling.
The clinician will be responsible for: conducting intake interviews, creating a treatment plan, and supporting students with a variety of mental health issues. Clinician will also provide crisis intervention and group counseling services for a similar variety of student concerns through individual and/or group interventions.
This clinician develops and leads psycho-educational outreach programs to various student groups and the campus community members as well as coordinates outreach activities to students. This employee will provide referrals, maintain student records, and help coordinate resource information. Some travel may be required to Loudoun campus.
The Student Mental Health Clinician position reports directly to the Counseling Center Director.
The Mental Health Clinician Position is a 10 month position, with specific schedule to be arranged/determined annually by the director based upon the needs and demands of the student population.
