Mental Health Counselor
Position Summary
Stetson University is seeking a full-time (12-month) Mental Health Counselor, who is a licensed Florida professional (LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW) or a licensed registered intern to join our dynamic, diverse and creative team. This position will provide services at Stetson University's Student Counseling Services and reports directly to the Director of Student Counseling Services. The Mental Health Counselor will have the opportunity to engage cooperatively with the campus at large, especially the Campus Life and Student Success (CLaSS) division via exciting and rewarding student connection events. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is to provide individual and group counseling and/or psycho therapy, assessment, crisis intervention, and on-call services to a diverse population of Stetson students and provide direct clinical services.
- Provide consultation services to student groups, faculty and staff within the university.
- Use electronic programs (such as TitaniumSchedule, CCAPS Assessments, and Microsoft Outlook) and other tools to enhance the efficacy of Student Counseling Services.
- Collaborate with other departments within the division and university.
- Serve in the on-call rotation 24/7 for one week per month, during which the counselor stays within 40 minutes of campus.
- Support and implement University and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned functions that contribute to the Student Counseling Service offerings and the institution's academic mission.
