Mental Health Therapist (Psychologist 2)
The CARE Center at North Hennepin Community College provides counseling, programming, and support services related to students' personal well-being and development. The mental health therapist provides clinical perspective to the holistic, multi-disciplinary approach of the CARE Center team. Services include but are not limited to individual counseling, group therapy, case consultations, assessments and crisis intervention. The position serves on the Behavioral Concerns Response Team. In addition, the position and department function as a vital part of the college community by completing outreach to student referrals, serving as advocates in multiple settings, hosting mental health and basic needs awareness building activities, and mental health focused educational programming for both students and staff.
Salary Range:
$34.69 - $51.45 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold a current and valid mental health professional license (LICSW/LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LP), which requires a minimum of a master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure experience providing professional counseling, psychological services, therapy, or clinical case management in a college/university, public, or private setting.
- Experience in providing individual therapy.
- Demonstrated cultural competence in providing counseling, mental health or psychological services that support clientele from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Preferred Qualification
- Board-approved supervisor status with the applicable licensing board.
- Three (3) to Six (6) years of professional experience in providing mental health or social work services.
- Experience working in a higher education environment, specifically a mental center or counseling center.
- Experience creating and implementing educational and outreach programming.

Work Shift
Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
One day (Tuesday or Wednesday) a week 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
Telework
Option to telework one day per week, depending on the department's needs. This would start after the training period.
