The Michigan Reconnect Completion Navigator will guide MI Reconnect students through the development and progress of a post-secondary educational credential or degree completion plan. The position provides timely reminders and guidance regarding critical enrollment and academic milestones, including course registration deadlines, FAFSA completion, and other activities that support continued enrollment and academic progress. The position will provide guidance related to educational and career pathways, and helps adult learners identify and overcome barriers that may impact their ability to persist toward credential or degree completion. The position will work closely with Michigan Reconnect Enrollment Specialists and reports to the Assistant Director of Adult Recruitment and Community Outreach.
This position is grant funded through March 31st, 2028.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide ongoing and individualized academic success support to MI Reconnect students within assigned caseload.
- Assist adult students in developing an individualized success plan and monitor their progress toward their set goals.
- Provide personalized communication, facilitate one-on-one meetings, identify potential barriers to academic and career success, and develop success initiatives to overcome these barriers and reach established goals.
- Administer holistic intake assessments to measure and characterize individual student skills, characteristics, needs, and barriers.
- Coordinate services, based on individual student needs, to cultivate relationships and deliver support that develops skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to their success in college.
- Prepare and coach students to effectively navigate academic policies and procedures to support their continued enrollment and progress.
- Educate students on the following topics and skill development areas: goal-setting, time- management and organization, academic skills, study strategies, overcoming academic challenges, self-regulation, and self-efficacy.
- Knowledge of FERPA and data privacy regulations.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Implement a proactive and appreciative coaching approach when assisting students.

- Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred
