Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee restroom breaks and snack preparation for children
• Assist children with homework
• Assist teacher in the creation of a positive classroom community
• Assist in facilitating and integrating hands-on learning activities and experiences
• Assist with preparation for and participation in family/school events
• Develop positive relationships with children and provide them with motivational support and guidance
• Model appropriate behavior
• Use restorative practices to foster a positive learning environment
• Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times
• Assist in supervising program field trips
• Meet regularly with MuncieP3 Director and attend staff meetings
• Practice positive communication with teachers, Program Director, and all support staff
• Submit all required documentation in a timely fashion
• Develop and maintain positive family and community relations
• Communicate daily with families to ensure continued program partnership
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance as required by this position

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Experience working with children
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse children, staff, parents, and community members
• Ability to create a positive learning environment, incorporating academics, enrichment, and recreation

• Requires successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR/First Aid certified
• CYC certification training
• TB test clearance
