Neurocritical Care Physician
Brown Health Medical Group is seeking two full-time physicians for the Department of Neurology at Rhode Island Hospital. The successful candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology and Neurocritical Care. Fellowship training or research experience in Neurocritical Care is preferred but not required. The successful candidates will qualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The individuals selected must also have a record of accomplishment as a teacher and as a clinician while also having a record of accomplishments pertinent to the academic rank of initial appointment. This position is part of the long-term academic plan for Rhode Island Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School.
The selected individuals will participate in the educational programs in Neurology for medical students and residents as well as other staff members at Rhode Island Hospital. In addition, the individuals will provide Neurology care to patients of the Hospital. The successful candidates will collaborate with the other faculty and the Chairperson of the Department of Neurology in educational programs, in scholarly work, and in clinical activities.
In conjunction with the BHMG Attending Physicians, the selected individual will rotate onto the Neurology Ward and Consult Attending Services at Rhode Island Hospital and Women and Infants’ Hospital.
The successful applicants will be expected to be a productive scholar and will be provided with opportunities for research.
- Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology and Neurocritical Care.
- Training in research, with an emphasis on Neurocritical is highly desirable.
- Must demonstrate excellence as a teacher of Neurology.
- Must be an accomplished clinician able to serve as a teaching role model for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral medical students, interns, and residents. Must show record of scholarly productivity through research or other means appropriate to the academic rank and to timely academic promotion.
- Appointee in academic track will be provided with a minimum 20% protected time to pursue academic and research opportunities.
