Non-Teaching Tenure Track Instructor in Athletics / Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Success
Job Summary/Basic Function
Join Our Team at Millersville University! The Department of Athletics welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Success beginning August 2026. The position is a 9-month appointment that is responsible for assisting the Sr. Associate Director of Athletics and Director of Athletics with the daily operation of the athletic department and coordinating various administrative functions within the department focused on operations and student academic success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee educational programming for student athletes.
- Work closely with Sr. Associate Athletic Director to establish academic protocols that assist with retention, academic success and matriculation of our students.
- Oversee and monitor academic study hall program for the department.
- Meet regularly with coaches to develop and monitor academic tracking of student athletes.
- Meet regularly with at risk students to develop academic improvement plans, assist with advising for students and serve as academic point person for prospective student athletes.
- Maintain academic monitoring system and communicate with faculty members and coaches as needed.
- Support game day operations as a game day supervisor during the academic year.
- Support the Sr. Associate Director of Athletics to monitor athletics eligibility and NCAA Compliance operations.
- Implementation of academic resources for the department of athletics.
- Assist with oversight of SAAC.
- Oversee GA for Compliance and Academics.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree + 15 credits.
- One year of experience in intercollegiate athletics.
- Working understanding of intercollegiate athletics.
- Previous experience or knowledge of academic support for student athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus constituents.
- Evidence of ability to successfully work with diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Successful interview.
- Successful teaching demonstration.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree.
- Prior experience with NCAA Compliance.
