About the Department
ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT : Successful applicants will join a group of 6 full-time legal studies faculty and two other attorneys in the Greenberg School of Risk Science ( GSRS ) who regularly teach legal studies classes in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Our Legal and Ethical Analysis of Business Environments course is required of all undergraduate business majors, and our graduate course, Law, Ethics and Governance is required of all MBA students. In addition, we teach an array of law-related courses in our Business Law Minor, including courses that are cross-listed with courses in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, the Institute for International Business, and the Department of Economics. Clinical legal studies faculty often collaborate on articles, panels, and paper presentations at regional and national conferences
Position Description
GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY invites applications for one non-tenure-track appointment in Legal Studies, effective for Fall 2026 in the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science ( GSRS ) at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Rank is open, but we expect to hire at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) or Clinical Associate Professor (non-tenure track. Clinical faculty typically teach a 3-3 load.
Required Experience
The capability to publish research in refereed pedagogical, professional, and/or scholarly journals.
Required Education
Candidates must have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Significant professional experience as a lawyer is also highly valued. While we welcome applications from candidates in all areas of business law, we would be especially interested in applicants whose work engages issues related to insurance, commercial law, entrepreneurship, data privacy, or business ethics. While nearly all of our classes are taught in-person, we also encourage applications from individuals who have taught or are interested in teaching in other formats, including asynchronous classes.
