We are accepting applications for the Noncredit Older Adult Art (Watercolor and Drawing) Instructor Adjunct Applicant Pool. Adjunct pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments. Please review application material requirements carefully to ensure successful submission. The teaching assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of students in achieving their educational goals. College of the Canyons is seeking adjunct faculty members in the Noncredit Department. Applications will be considered for immediate and future eligibility into the Noncredit Older Adult Art (Watercolor and Drawing) Adjunct Instructor Applicant Pool.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Art.
OR
- A Bachelor’s degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught, AND either (1) or (2) below:
- Thirty hours or two semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the District. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor; OR
- One year of professional experience working with older adults
OR
- An Associate degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and sixty hours or four semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the District. This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor.
OR Any bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught or the equivalent;
OR Any associate degree and six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught or the equivalent;
OR Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter;
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Please detail on your application if you have experience teaching watercolor and/or drawing classes.
Further Details
Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.
Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $55.54 per hour. (Click HERE to view Academic Adjunct Salary Schedule).
