Job Description
This is an unlimited part-time position with a guaranteed 75% workload.
Duties: Activities related to college teaching and learning in the Nursing field, including but not limited to the duties listed below:
- Instructional planning, teaching, learning, and evaluating associate degree students in the classroom.
- Instructional facilitation.
- Assessment of student performance.
- Student recruitment, retention, and advising.
- Maintenance of professional skills and credentials.
- Work closely with department to maintain and enhance curriculum and assess program outcomes.
- Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, curriculum development, and college-wide committees.
Salary Range: $43,067 - $98,660
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement:
- Graduate degree with a major in nursing, or
- Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree
- A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.
Occupational Experience Requirement:
- Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
- As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.
Recency Requirement:
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement:
- Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.
- Other Requirement - Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience as an AD and/or practical nursing instructor in an academic setting.
- Demonstrate familiarity with and commitment to the mission and constituencies of a comprehensive community and technical college.
- Commitment to studying, analyzing, and implementing learning strategies that will help students reach their education goals.
- Experience using teaching techniques that support diverse learning styles.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of instructional technology, including online course delivery.
- Demonstrate high level of cultural competency and ability to building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning with CLC's Culture of Caring environment.
