Nursing Clinical-Temporary
Position Summary
This temporary position supports the daily operations of the nursing clinical learning and skills laboratories. The primary focus is to manage the physical lab environment, oversee inventory, and directly support faculty and students during hands-on psychomotor skills training. This a full-time position that requires 35 hours per week Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Lab Operations & Space Management
- Lab Set-up & Breakdown: Coordinate and provide general oversight for physical laboratory setups required for undergraduate, graduate, and Continuing Education classes.
- Space Scheduling: Schedule, track, and monitor open lab time and lab resource utilization by nursing students using the open lab.
- Student & TA Supervision: Assist in directing graduate teaching assistants, including managing weekly workload assignments and daily coordination.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure the clinical skills lab remains a safe, organized, clean, and professional learning environment.
Inventory & Supply Control
- Stock Management: Maintain, organize, and manage storage for all lab inventory, including consumable nursing supplies and medical linens.
- Ordering & Logistics: Partner with the lab team to track inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, evaluate vendors, and handle the delivery/storage of incoming equipment.
Faculty & Student Support
- Instructional Support: Provide direct psychomotor skills training, demonstration, and hands-on instruction to students in the nursing laboratory setting.
- Faculty Collaboration: Assist course faculty during scheduled lab times by ensuring equipment is functional, properly utilized, and aligned with the day's curriculum.
- Progress Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with clinical faculty regarding student progress, technique, and learning issues observed in the skills lab and open lab.
