Nursing Faculty (Full-time, Non-tenure Track) – School of Nursing
Duquesne University School of Nursing (SON) is a widely recognized pioneer in nursing education, having created Pennsylvania’s first BSN program in 1937 and the nation’s first online nursing PhD program in 1997. Due to continued growth, the SON is currently seeking one Full-Time faculty for a 9-month, non-tenure track position as Clinical Assistant Professor, starting August 2026. The successful candidate will primarily teach in the pre-licensure program, with opportunities to progressively teach across multiple levels of the curriculum. The role also provides avenues to engage in collaborative scholarship and contribute to the advancement of nursing education and simulation-based learning initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD or DNP
- Clinical and teaching experience in various areas of nursing
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania
- Teaching philosophy commensurate with Duquesne University's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications:
- A DNP or PhD in nursing
- Preference will be given to the candidate with successful teaching experience at the university or college level ? to include online instruction in for teaching in the graduate programs
- Demonstrated commitment to the profession as evidenced in record of professional leadership or public service, and scholarship
- Certification in advanced practice or teaching preferred
Alternatively, the applicants may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
