EMT -Paramedic, RN, Respiratory Therapy or Biomedical Technology,
Computer Science, Information Systems or related area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Sets up simulation equipment to meet needs of faculty and
students
- Operates computer hardware and audio-video recording
systems
- Operates simulation equipment with the ability to follow
medical aspects of scenario and make appropriate adjustments based
on participant actions
- Assists the faculty with human patient simulator labs including
organization and preparation of equipment and supplies such as
medications, labels, and patient records.
- Maintains schedule of simulation labs
- Identifies and implements solutions to problems related to
simulation equipment, computer hardware and software
- Repairs and maintains equipment as required communicates both
technical and non-technical matters effectively in person and in
writing with a diverse population
- Remains current with technical and professional skills by
attending human patient simulation conferences and training
courses
- Acquires and maintains skills and knowledge related to existing
and newly acquired technologies in the Nursing department
- Researches specifications for hardware and software
products
- Assists in maintaining reference materials for simulation
equipment and related audio-visual and computer hardware and
software
- Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware and
software
- Trains faculty on operation of equipment
- Develops just-in-time reference aids for faculty
- Assists faculty in the development of simulation-based
instructional components
- Assists in planning, developing and implementing new and
innovative ways to maximize efficiency
- Contributes effectively to a positive work environment that
demonstrates and supports a learning-centered environment
- Attends required meetings and works with faculty and staff to
promote a team environment
- Promotes and models a team approach in the conduct of daily
operations within the Technology Services and Nursing Areas
- Reinforces and maintains high ethical standards of conduct and
procedures to assist in ensuring the security of the College’s
technology assets and data
- Performs other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge and understanding of human anatomy & physiology,
medical emergencies, acute medical conditions and traumatic
injury.
- Experience with human patient simulator(s) operation.
- Ability to perform detailed work independently, as well as, in
a team environment.
- Working knowledge with computer hardware and software
programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively
communicate and interact with other employees and the public
through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally
defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel
objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and
operate various items of office related and laboratory equipment,
such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, portable
electronic devices, simulation equipment, simulation recording
hardware and software. Ability to moderately lift, push, pull and
carry; walk, sit and stand for up to 8 hrs; and work with
electrical power and compressed gases. Involves some climbing,
stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive
motions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ensures simulation learning activities are supported during the
evening and/or on the weekend.
