courses in the department's online undergraduate program in political science. The search is open with respect to area of specialization within public administration and public policy. Because our online curricular needs span the field, we are especially interested in candidates with flexible teaching interests who are prepared to teach across more than one area, including some combination of public management, leadership, budgeting and finance, grant writing, human resources management, and non-profit management. Candidates with substantial applied experience in public or nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply, as are candidates with a demonstrated record of effective online instruction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of this position is the delivery of high-quality online instruction in the MPA program and, as needed, the online undergraduate program in political science. Although all faculty are expected to mentor students, the primary focus of this position is teaching courses and contributing to the ongoing success of the MPA program.

Arkansas State University is a comprehensive public research university located approximately 70 miles northwest of Memphis, TN. The department offers a well-rounded curriculum to its more than 120 majors. The department also offers two graduate programs—an MA in Political Science and a NASPAA-accredited MPA program, the latter with an enrollment of more than 230 students.

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated workspace that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State.
Location Requirement: To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in Arkansas or a state that shares a border with Arkansas (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, or Oklahoma. This residency requirement supports team collaboration, regional knowledge, and occasional in-person engagement as needed.
The primarily online teaching modality means that some flexibility may be needed in work schedules to accommodate student needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned MPA or a related master's degree with substantial professional experience in public or nonprofit management is required.
PhD, DPA, or other terminal degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or a cognate field is preferred.
