The Medical College of Georgia, Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at Augusta University is currently seeking a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Physicians with expertise in General Gastroenterology and Hepatology are especially of interest. Desired candidates will participate in patient care and teaching, work collaboratively with leadership in growing the Division along with expansion or development of new basic, clinical or translational research programs. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

Responsibilities

Clinical - 90%
Faculty positions in the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine, will foster an environment that will enhance the clinical enterprise of the Division by:
* Growth of the clinical practice.
* Fostering new clinical initiatives with the Health System.
* Continued development of Advanced Endoscopy services.
* Actively participate in the teaching activities in support of students, residents and fellows.
* Developing relationships with the community that promote the academic mission.
* Clinical responsibilities will consist of a set number of half day clinics per week in the Gastroenterology faculty practice site; a set number of half days of block endoscopy time; a set number of GI consult service.

Teaching - 10%
Fellow, resident & student education.

Required Qualifications

Doctorate degree from an accredited institution and board-eligibility, or board-certification in GI.

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
