Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the Division of Neonatology.

The position involves providing clinical care for neonatal patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, including diagnosis and treatment of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, and patient/family education. It also requires maintaining patient records and sharing on-call coverage.

Services are provided at the 154-bed Children's Hospital of Georgia, which has a Level IV NICU and serves as a key referral center. Successful candidates must have excellent clinical skills, involvement in clinical research, and a desire to teach residents. Candidates should hold an MD/DO degree and be board certified/eligible in Neonatology.

Responsibilities

Patient Care/Service:

• Become board certified in Neonatology by year three.
• Provide high-quality care to improve quality, safety, and patient experience.
• Participate in on-call duties and meet productivity targets.
• Support professional relationships with physicians.

Teaching/Instruction:

• Provide education and training to residents, medical students, and staff.
• Achieve teaching evaluation scores at or above the department mean.
• Attend pediatric Grand Rounds and faculty meetings.

Required Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited institution, board certified/eligible in Neonatology, and eligible for a Georgia medical license. Additional requirements vary by rank.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
