Responsibilities

The Department of Computer Science at the Florida State University seeks a top scholar for a Thinking Machines Endowed Chair position to begin in August 2026. This is an open rank, 9-month, full-time, and benefits eligible position. Systems and Networks, Human Computer Interactions, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics and Visualization, High-Performance Distributed and Cloud Systems, Quantum Computing, and Full-Stack Co-Designed Systems that support Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Outstanding applicants in other areas will also be considered.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in Computer Science or closely related field with demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and academic research is required. Candidates with outstanding academic credentials commensurate with tenured Associate or Full Professors are encouraged.
